Dr. Peter Refela is a board-certified periodontist. He was born and raised in Los Angeles. He graduated magna cum laude with a degree in neuroscience from UCLA. He finished at the top of his class with honors at UCLA School of Dentistry. He continued his training at UCLA through a Periodontics and Implant Surgery Residency. He is currently very active in the field of periodontics and is a fellow member of the American Academy of Periodontology, California Society of Periodontists, Western Society of Periodontology, Academy of Osseointegration, American Dental Association, and California Dental Association).
As a doctor, he is conservative, gentle, and attentive to patients’ overall health and needs. He encourages patient participation and enjoys informing the patient with step-by-step treatment plans and at-home oral health care. His area of expertise is in implant placement, treating periodontal bone loss, and treating recession with soft tissue grafts. He enjoys traveling with his wife, serving and teaching in his church diocese, playing the oud, reading classical literature, and playing with his nieces.
Dr. Cynthia Au Yeung is an oral surgeon. She graduated from UCLA School of Dentistry in 2005. She completed a General Practice Residency at UCLA Medical Center in 2006 and oral and maxillofacial surgery internship at USC in 2007. She graduated from USC Keck School of Medicine in 2010. She completed another internship in general surgery in 2011 and an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency in 2013. She spends time reviewing patients’ medical history thoroughly to prepare for surgery and going over treatment options to increase patient comfort. Her expertise is wisdom teeth extraction.
Dr. Leshin Chen is a board-certified periodontist. He graduated magna cum laude from UCLA with a degree in microbiology and molecular genetics. He continued his training at UCLA School of Dentistry, where he completed his DDS degree and specialty residency in periodontics and dental implant surgery.
His professional affiliations include memberships in the American Academy of Periodontology, American Dental Association, California Dental Association, San Gabriel Valley Dental Society, Los Angeles Dental Society, Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society, and Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. Recognizing an important need for community service, he is an active volunteer for the "Give Kids A Smile" program.
Besides English, Dr. Chen also speaks Mandarin and Taiwanese. He enjoys cooking, swimming, watching sports, and spending time with his wife and adorable son and daughter.
Dr. Selina Chan is an endodontist (root canal therapy specialist). She received her DDS degree from UCLA School of Dentistry in 2005 and continued her specialty training in endodontics at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in 2007. In addition, Dr. Chan has teaching experience and is an instructor at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine Department of Endodontics, where she does microsurgery training and microendodontic training. Her professional memberships include San Gabriel Valley Dental Society, American Association of Endodontists, Epsilon Zeta Chapter, Omicron Kappa Upsilon, American Dental Association, and California Dental Association
Dr. Chan is very conservative and informs her patients of the best treatment options in their specific case. She is very detailed and completes all her root canal therapy under the microscope. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two adorable sons.
